Last week I was fortunate enough to attend a special moment: the birth of Nautik magazine, the new magazine from the Spain Media group—which also includes Forbes Spain. A gesture of pure romanticism in a world where the ephemeral and the digital seem to have devoured everything. And yes, I confess I’m a hopeless romantic; I can’t resist the charm of a well-printed magazine, with pages that tell stories worth touching, flipping through, and saving.
As Andrés Rodríguez—the person who dreamed it up, the magazine’s editor and director—said, Nautik is a magazine that includes everyone. A project that aims to unite a nautical world that, in Spain, is still associated with elites and exclusivity. Its mission is to broaden horizons, blur barriers, and remind everyone that the sea belongs to everyone. After all, we all come from it.
This birth connects me with a bygone era, with the essence with which Just the Sea emerged, where the sea was more than a stage: it was a philosophy of life. My time there is behind me, but the passion remains intact. Now my compass points toward a more intimate exploration, where art, the sea, and life meet – Angela Lago Wearable Nautical Art.
What a joy to see Nautik magazine born with such strength, with that broad and generous vision, publishing in Spanish and English, sailing on both sides of the Atlantic and reaching every corner of the world where someone feels the echo of the ocean.
Fair winds, long life and splendor to this brave magazine that dares to tell the sea from within. 🌬️🔵
