Blanca Escrigas (Ferrol, 1988) has enjoyed the sea since childhood, especially the waves of Valdoviño, where she spent her childhood and learned to surf.

He began the architecture career in A Coruña, finishing his studies in Madrid, where he has lived for seven years. He currently has his studio in the Lavapiés neighborhood, which manages at the same time as a cultural space, promoting events, exhibitions and other activities with which he gives vent to his passion for the management of cultural projects.

Despite living in the capital, Blanca has maintained a strong relationship with Galicia and the sea, developing projects that have allowed her to be on horseback between Madrid and her land. In 2013 he founded Campeiras Surf, a surfcamp for adults located in Valdoviño. From this experience emerged Campeiras Live, a music and surf festival that was held for three editions until 2017.

As a child, Blanca liked to draw, although perhaps it was during her university studies that she developed this discipline as a work tool. Little by little, what was learned became a mode of expression, with illustration as the main vehicle. In 2017 he participates in the Compostela Illustrated initiative, with which he travels the Camino de Santiago in Portugal with his box of watercolors and the commission to put an image to an illustrated guide. This moment is decisive for Blanca’s interest in the field of illustration, and after several exhibitions of watercolors and travel notebooks, she arrives at her first illustrated story. In “Allá en los mar” his drawings are accompanied by a story also told by Blanca, in a new stage of his career as a plastic artist.
