Just the Sea by SEA LOVERS has the honor of welcoming two extraordinary artists in our store: Sol Pardo and Andrea Viêntëc. The two, hat makers, create unique pieces that we already have at your disposal.
Sol Pardo is a designer who has fallen in love with us, respectful when choosing materials and how to work them. For his exclusive collaboration with Just the Sea he has created three different models: the Panama Beach, the Panama Sailing and the Panama Pirata.
The first, the Panama Beach and Panama Sailing respects the structure of the Panama, those cool hats for summer and the beach days. They are made with Ecuadorian toquilla, a fabric declared World Heritage by Unesco. Crafted by indigenous women in Ecuador following the techniques of traditional processing, Sol has just designed them in their studio in Barcelona.
The Pirate Panama, made with the same material and, like the other models, with an adapter for all types of sizes, they take us to Stevenson’s Treasure Island.
The entire collection of Sol Pardo for Just the Sea is numbered and signed by her.
Sol Pardo was born in Argentina, in a family of artists. The art was, since childhood, the refuge he went to compensate for the suffering he experienced in school due to his small dyslexia. Sol was recognized in 2017 as Vogue Talent, and today is considered one of the most important hat makers in Europe. According to Vogue, “Sol Pardo makes the hats for which you’ll want to go back to wearing hats”.
The other new collaboration of Just the Sea exclusively is with Andrea Viêntëc, another reference milliner with workshop in Barcelona. Andrea has designed for Just the Sea some braids and turbans that lead us to the summer nights of the Thousand and One Nights. The unique pieces that we have in Just the Sea are braids made of 100% hand-dyed cotton in various colors that remind us of the tonalities of the sky over the sea and the golden sparkles of the sun over the waves. Each braid is unique as are the turbans of our collection, which fit perfectly to each head size as perfect textile sculptures.
But, the jewel in the crown of Andrea’s collaboration is our bag-sail, made and painted by hand and inspired by the sails of the boats old Made of 100% cotton, dyed and hand-painted, piece by piece. It has very well finished both inside and outside and can be picked up, tied and made smaller thanks to some cables included.
